OWEN & DYSON was established in 1875.
It was the originator of the cold spoke wheel centre, and specialised in the manufacture of wheels and axles of all types, for railway carriages and wagons, tramways and railway breakdown cranes.
The bulk of the output was exported to the British Colonies, India and South America.

This building is still in use today by another Rotherham company, D.A.Cooper Ltd who are on Sheffield Road.
