I used a flip phone half of my childhood, but it was just a primitive one. And in 2024 I got interested in
dumbphones and everything like that, so I started digging... and digging.... and got in a WORLD of these super
cool things!! God....... So I even got myself one eventually!! Here, you can scroll this page to find out more:
After tinkering with a laggy Android flip, I decided that I had to go BASIC. And that decision became even stronger after talking with my new friend,
who also used an old basic phone for some time! So I searched and searched, and found this beauty of Sony Ericsson W710i for ~ $8!
If I start yapping about it, I won't stop. This thing is very very small and cute, even though it's a little scratched and worn. I love having an external screen! Perfect for looking at the time and notifications (if I even get some). The main screen is also good, I love the style and everything! Having a Sony Ericsson phone was my dream in childhood ;3 I'd say it's very comfortable! I have small hands, so this tiny thingy is just the best. It's clicks and buttons are also super satisfying to me, I LOVE tactile things so so so much!! It runs a proprietary OS, so my experience with it is very very smooth and pleasant. It only lagged when I added a video too big and - it took around 5 mins to load the videos FOLDER. I just took the memory card out and deleted the vid on my computer. Lesson learned, and the lag was entirely my fault (this phone is from 2006 dude). So it should run quickly and smoothly THEMES!! I LOVE themes!! There are so so much different themes for it on the internet, and you can even create your own with Sony Ericsson Themes Creator on Windows!! I had a lot of fun with it, and eventually just edited a Hello Kitty theme :3
LG Smart Folder (old)
So, I reseached a LOT and got myself an LG Smart Folder :D I found it on AliExpress and it me cost around $70.
It's a Korean flip phone, and I only saw 1-2 videos about it on yt, but it was the most affordable option to me, so that's why I bought it :"3
I bought it in August, 2024, and used it roughly until June of 2025 as my main! I used it as my main phone for everything, because it has Android. It's kinda comfortable. Smaller than my touchscreen brick, but too big for a flip (for me). The buttons are too rubbery and soft, but still clicky a bit (ᵔ⩊ᵔ) It's also very laggy. Even though it's an old Android, the phone kinda struggles, and it made me maaad sometimes :((
An old photo of it with a charm and "rhinestones" (look how HUGE it is omg)
